Prom fashions at Mohegan Manor

Find the perfect dress for your formal this Sunday at Mohegan Manor.

The Baldwinsville Girls Lacrosse team will host their second annual Fashion Show Fundraiser from 2 to 5 p.m. Feb. 8 at the facility (58 Oswego St.) in downtown Baldwinsville. The event will feature the latest fashions from Boom Babies and tuxedos from Tuxedo Manor in Baldwinsville. The girl's varsity lacrosse team and their Baker High School male escorts will model the dresses and tuxedos for the public show, which is open to all ages.

"Last year's event was very successful," said Kelly Spagnoletti, one of the event's organizers. "The response was so favorable that we decided to plan and organize another show this year."

Proceeds from the event will be used to send the team to San Francisco in April where they will play two games and conduct spring training.

"This is a great way to involve the girls in a fun and productive way to raise money for their spring trip," Spagnoletti said. "The fashion show takes place before lacrosse season begins and this is a wonderful way for the girls to begin working together toward a common goal."

In addition to dresses and tuxedos, jewelry and purse vendors will be on-site displaying and selling their latest merchandise. Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a silent auction, which consists of merchandise and services donated from the local business community. There will also be raffles from local jewelry stores, hairstylists, nail and beauty salons, limousine services, restaurants and more. Hors d'oeuvres, desserts and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

"This event brings the team together in another way than try-outs, practice and games. It gives the girls an opportunity to shed their uniforms and dress-up in ball and prom gowns for an afternoon of fun," Spagnoletti said.

Tickets are $20 at the door. For more information, call the Baldwinsville Girl's Lacrosse Booster Club at 635-5603 or e-mail nspagnol@twcny.rr.com.

"Come see the girls off the field and on the runway," Spagnoletti said. "It is a great time and a lot of fun for both spectators and models."
