SilverSneakers muscular strength and range of movement

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support. For information on the program, call Riverside Fitness Center at 638-3472. This class will be held from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays (Jan. 11 to March 4) at Riverside Fitness Center for ages 55 +.

Snowmobile safety course

This course covers snowmobile safety, common emergencies, dangers, appropriate dress, common maintenance, snowmobile laws, trail markers and signage and hand signals. In order to legally operate a snowmobile on public lands, youth ages 10 to 13 must take a snowmobile safety course, obtain a safety certificate, and be accompanied by a person over 18. (Bring a lunch for a short break.) This course will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday Jan. 9 at the Baldwinsville Public Library. Pre-registration is required to attend this course.

Baldwinsville youth wrestling

This five-week program for boys and girls in third through sixth grades is an excellent way to learn some of the right moves and holds that once made Baldwinsville a power house in the sport. This is a contact program, held in a safe and fun environment. Please note that this is also a co-ed program and girls may have to wrestle boys. This program will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays (Jan. 5 to Feb. 11).

Baseball fundamentals

This eight-week program will cover the basic fundamentals of baseball; throwing, catching, hitting and running to help improve your game this season. This program is also a great way to get ready for spring tryouts. Your instructor for this program is Jeff Harris from Baldwinsville Little League. This program is for boys and girls 8 to 12 years old. This program will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays (Jan. 20 to March 17 -- no class Feb. 17) at Elden Elementary.
