Moon, with 10 points, was the only Bears player in double figures as Galek, Christopher and Scott claimed six points apiece. For the Purple Tigers, Justin Hogan had 16 points as Jeff Brown (11 points), Caleb Wright and Brandon Babcock (10 points each) hit double figures, too.
Chittenango's girls team took a 73-30 defeat to Cortland, who moved to 6-0 on the season. A 24-5 first-quarter outburst set the tone for the rest of the night as, for the Bears, Sierra Shafer had nine points and Haines got seven points. Courtney Tennant led the Purple Tigers with 15 points as Maggie Brown and Nacirema Mann each got 14 points.
As the girls Bears play in the Fabius-Pompey Tournament early this week, the Chittenango boys host its annual Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, featuring Canastota, Bishop Grimes and Tully. The teams will play in two 16-minute halves, rather than the usual eight-minute quarters.
