Jubilee hosted supermarket meeting on South Side of Syracuse

Jubilee phase II: Neighborhood Supermarket-Informational Meeting completed

Phase I was site acquisition. Phase II includes acquiring the property, preparing the site layout, obtaining the land and building permits and soliciting community input and support.

Jubilee Homes Community Informational Meeting about the independently owned Supermarket on the south side drew a standing room crowd to the Southwest Community Center on Thursday Nov. 14. Carolyn Evans Dean a business counselor with Southwest Economic Business Resource Center was thrilled with the turn out and the upbeat attitude of the gathering.

"It's a wonderful day for the south west community," she said adding that the lack of services in the neighborhood makes like they are living in a remote area versus an urban area.

David Michael the city's Commissioner of Economic Development said, "There is a lot of enthusiasm and commitment, and with this level of commitment I think it will happen."
