The summer of 2009 has not been kind to those who cherish the lazy days of summer. Even the sunflowers have missed the hot summer sun. When Mother Earth says, "rain," we accept it and do the best with what we have. With that being said, unfortunately this year the planned Sunflower Maze will become a "Sunflower Walk." The sunflowers are approximately four feet high, but they will lift your spirits with their bright and cheerful faces. Please take a few moments from your busy schedule to take your friends and family to the Sunflower Walk. A sunflower is a warm and caring gift that can be given to those whom you care about.
The Sunflower Walk will be held from 12 to 7 p.m. beginning Monday, Aug. 17 at Veteran's Memorial Park at Gillie Lake. Depending on the weather, the walk is scheduled to remain open from seven to 10 days. The walk is free and you can pick flowers for one dollar each. If you would like to share your photos, please send them to my e-mail account, email@example.com and we will post them to our Web site.
On behalf of the town of Camillus, I would like to thank Mark Pigula for taking the time from his busy schedule to plant the sunflowers and giving this gift to our community.
As always, my door is always open. Please feel free to contact me at 488-1335 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please send your e-mail Sunflower Walk photos to the Eagle Observer, too, at email@example.com or mail them to 5910 Firestone Drive, Syracuse, NY, 13206.
