If you are a regular donor or are thinking of giving for the first time, you can make a difference in someone's life by donating your blood at the Oneida YMCA Bloodmobile Monday Aug. 24. Blood donations will be taken from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Donating blood is simple, and your gift of life may help as many as three people right here in central New York.
Donors that are 16 year olds are now eligible to donate blood provided they have an original signed or faxed copy of the New York State Informed Parental Consent form and meet the eligibility requirements. Forms are provided at the bloodmobile or can be obtained online at madisononeidaredcross.org.
Please call the Madison-Oneida Chapter of the American Red Cross at their 24-hour number 363-2900 to sign up. Participants can also sign up online at madisononeidaredcross.org and by clicking on "Give Blood." Community members can also schedule an appointment at the Oneida YMCA, but walk-ins are welcome to the drive at all times.
About every two seconds, someone requires blood. Help make sure blood is available wherever and whenever a patient is in need. The Oneida Chapter of the American Red Cross asks that community members donate because the recipients depend on blood drives like this one.
