Do You Know an Adorable Kid Between the Ages of 8 and 12?

Enter them in OCRRA's "Recycling Kid Contest" and they could be featured in OCRRA's upcoming advertisements

OCRRA's public education campaign highlights the importance of recycling to "save the world a little each day" and preserve natural resources for future generations. In keeping with this theme, OCRRA is conducting a county-wide search for the next OCRRA Recycling Kids, who will be featured in upcoming OCRRA recycling advertisements!

Both a boy and a girl winner will be selected. Contest entries must be submitted online by Sunday, Aug. 30.

Spread the word to friends and family; entering the OCRRA Recycling Kid contest is easy. Simply visit ocrra.org/recycling_kid to fill out a short entry form and upload a photo of your child.

To enter a photo of your child, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Onondaga County, NY resident

18 years of age or older, at the time of entry

Legal parent or guardian of child whose photo you are submitting

Your child must be between the ages of 8 and 12 and available to attend a photo and / or video shoot held during the first week of September.


Both a boy and girl winner, as well as a boy and girl runner up, will be selected on or about Sept. 1, 2009. Each winner and runner up will receive a recycling prize.

Winners will receive:

* A cameo in OCRRA's upcoming recycling advertisements

A $100 gift certificate to www.greenhome.com, where a variety of environmentally friendly products are available for purchase, including compost kits; toys, clothes and furniture made from sustainable or recycled materials; recycled rubber back packs; reusable grocery bags; LED bike lights; rain barrels; eco-friendly flash drives; and much more

* A season pass to OCRRA's compost sites
