Kelly Doane, a.k.a. KD the Comic, is returning home.
At 8 p.m. Wednesday nights, residents can check out live comedy shows, hosted by KD, at the Mohegan Manor.
"This [show] is for mature audiences with all kinds of humor involved," KD said. "But, this is not Bob Hope. More like 'Bob, hope you're ready to hear great comedy' . . . I know, that was a silly one."
The show, featuring national acts that have opened for comics such as Tim Allen, Dave Attle, Dave Chappel and more, is being brought to Baldwinsville by the Last Laff Comedy Club.
"[The club] wanted to expand comedy into the surrounding areas," KD said, adding that Last Laff is associated with the nationally recognized comic venue Comic Zone.
Lasting two to two-and-a-half hours, KD said the shows are perfect for a night out in Baldwinsville, whether with a date, a group of friends or solo.
"We want people to try something different, different from a movie or a night out at the bowling alley," KD said. "[I'm] not knocking that, just saying we are something different -- a great first date venue or 100th date venue. By the way, if you are on your 100th date, God bless you. Also, if you're there and have a special event that day, you wont forget it."
KD said the club hopes to keep Wednesday nights an ongoing feature in Baldwinsville, but it's all up to the residents of Baldwinsville and surrounding areas.
"Come out and support live comedy," he said. "This is a team effort."
