Sometime July 19, vandals hit Thayer Park.
According to Mayor Bob Green the park sign was vandalized and the plastic portion was broken.
Village Trustee Sue Jones expressed concern for having the sign fixed and said the board needed to move quickly to do so.
As of the village board's meeting July 27, the culprits had not been caught.
"We have not caught the person responsible for that," said Skaneateles Police Chief Lloyd Perkins. "We did apprehend four juveniles."
The juveniles were responsible for spray painting public property throughout the village, Perkins said.
The most recent rash of vandalism began outside the village, Perkins said, adding that some damage occurred as far out as Coon Hill Road.
The board discussed what the village could do in order to have the sign at Thayer Park fixed.
"I don't think anyone appreciates how authentic that [sign] is," said Village Clerk Sally Sheehan.
