This Baldwinsville fire truck was recently spotted near Watertown when Fire Chief Chuck Cerio authorized a trip to Pierrepont Manor for a fellow firefighter's wedding. The truck was sent to surprise the groom and his bride. Tom Perkins, vice president of the Baldwinsville Volunteer Fire Company's (BVFC) Board, said one person drove the truck there and returned after members of the wedding party took a picture with the truck. Perkins said it was a poor decision, but accomplished the mission of surprising the firefighter at his wedding. While Cerio was within his rights to send the truck, the BVFC is reviewing the policy to make possible changes limiting where fire trucks can travel.
In other BVFC news, the fire station located on Crego Road will host a smoker at 7 p.m. Aug. 15. Tickets are $15.
