Even with a well-deserved rest after its California trip, the Baldwinsville girls lacrosse team were quite ready to resume action.
And it would start up again with the state Class A no. 1-ranked Bees going to Oswego last Thursday night and toying with the Buccaneers in a 21-9 victory.
Attacking at will, B'ville didn't let up in the first half, working its way to a 13-5 lead. Even though the defense had some trouble, Oswego couldn't make enough plays to put a big dent into the margin.
Kara Moschetti led with five goals and three assists. Mackenzie Kjerstad scored four times, while Quincey Spagnoletti had three goals and two assists.
Behind them, Maddison Frink and Erika Bulken matched each other with two goals and one assist, with Sarah Clark also finding the net twice. Erin Ward, Jen Fabian and Meghan Haney each had single tallies.
In contrast to the chilly conditions in Oswego, it was downright hot on Saturday when the Bees went to Auburn and took out the Maroons 18-7.
Here, it took a while, but the Bees' depth won out in the steamy conditions as it steadily wore down Auburn's defenses.
Moschetti nearly matched her Oswego out put with four goals and three assists as Spagnoletti also got four goals. Both Bulken and Fabian finished with three goals and one assist, while Katie VanDeValk had two goals. Frink and Clark earned one goal apiece.
B'ville would return home Tuesday to face Central Square before meeting Liverpool Friday in the Warriors' temporary home field at Solvay's Earl Hadley Stadium.
