The library wants you!

The Onondaga County Public Library Board of Trustees announces the beginning of a Strategic Planning process for OCPL. The process will be launched by a series of meetings of a Community Planning Focus Group.

These meetings will examine the needs of the citizens of Onondaga County and explore how the Central Library can best address those needs. The work of the Focus Group will ultimately form the backbone of the strategic planning initiative.

In an effort to make the Focus Group reflect the diverse nature of the County, the library is inviting those who can offer a unique perspective on the present and future issues facing the Central Library to participate. Involvement will consist of a series of three meetings, approximately two hours in length with some preparatory reading. Interested residents of Onondaga County are invited to contact Elizabeth J. Dailey, OCPL Executive Director at 435.1800 by May 1.

The meetings and topics will be as follows:

Monday, May 18: 9 to 11:30 a.m. -- Central Library Board Room

Topic: Orientation to the Process, Vision for the Community
