Van Buren appoints Eidt to OCRRA

After accepting Mark Wilder's resignation, the Van Buren town board appointed Roger Eidt to the Onondaga County Resource and Recovery Agency (OCRRA) as Van Buren's representative.

Eidt had previously served as Van Buren's representative to the OCRRA Board, but resigned for personal reasons, which have since been resolved.

Supervisor Claude Sykes said he was glad Eidt was available to serve again.

Wilder, who will begin his first term as a Baldwinsville trustee, plans to work with Eidt to bring him up to speed with ongoing issues including keeping Site 31 from being developed as a landfill by OCRRA. Site 31, a 437-acre property located between Brickyard and Turner roads in the town of Van Buren, is currently owned by OCRRA and is permitted as a landfill site by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

There are currently no plans to develop the site.
