Local man donates to Wanderer's Rest

Rome resident Tom Taylor recently donated 20 knit mats to Wanderers Rest Human Association in Canastota for cats and dogs to nap on during their stay at the Shelter.

Taylor, who participates in the Seniors Day Habilitation program at Madison Cortland ARC, used a spool device to create a knit cord. He then had the cord wrapped into a spiral and it was sewn to make a round mat.

"These are beautiful. They will surely make the cages comfy for the animals while staying at Wanderers Rest," said Lynne Kazinetz, Shelter Director.

Madison Cortland ARC's Day Habilitation programs provide assistance in obtaining life goals and skills through a variety of activities that are tailored to meet the needs of each individual. Choice, inclusion, independence, and productivity are the cornerstones of all programs provided. For more information, call 363-3389.

Jolene Cleaver is the Community Development Coordinator at Madison Cortland ARC.
