YWCA honors B'ville woman

A crusader for cultural education, Lockheed Martins's Molly Corley of Baldwinsville, is being honored for her commitment to end racism, promote diversity and empower women with a YWCA Diversity Achievers Award.

The YWCA Syracuse and Onondaga County has named 19 individuals to its 2009 Academy of Diversity Achievers. The honorees will be recognized for their work at YWCA's Day of Commitment Luncheon Thursday April 23 at the Convention Center at OnCenter in Syracuse.

YWCA's Day of Commitment begins at 8:30 a.m. with diversity workshops. The YWCA Day of Commitment Luncheon begins at noon, (registration opens at 11:30 a.m.), at The Convention Center at OnCenter in Syracuse. The cost of the luncheon is $40 per person or $320 for a table of eight. Call the YWCA at 424-0040 for reservations and information.

The YWCA operates nine Out of School Time sites (for 5 to 12 year olds) in three school districts, Girls Inc. programs featuring a girls-only and an after-school program on Douglas Street, as well as Camp Discovery in the summer, and career conferences: Expanding Your Horizons and Girls Summit and a Women's Residence program.
