Herb resigns from Vienna ethics board

The Supervisor and Board members were all present at the regular town meeting held in North Bay at the town hall at 7 p.m. The minutes, having been reviewed by the board, were approved for March 3, 10, and 18.

Correspondence

Craig Herb officially resigned his position on the Ethics Board. The town is advertising for a replacement, anyone interested in the position can obtain an application at the Town Clerk's office. The Supervisor's Report, completed ahead of schedule, has been filed and is in the Town Clerk's office.

The Supervisor, Nicol Baker responded to a letter received from Mike Piper requesting a street light. To obtain the light, Piper will be required to collected signatures of the home owners within that district allowing the $125.00 increase per year for that district.

The town received a check in the amount of $36,456.37 from Time Warner for their franchise.

Old Business

The board appointed Marty Adragna to the North Shore Sewer Committee, making it a seven-member committee.

The funds were approved, $6,595.00, to take the aerial pictures necessary to continue the North Shore Sewer District Project. The pictures have to be taken after the snow is gone and before the leaves are on the trees, which is just a one to two weeks time period.

According to town engineer, Ryan Fisher, conversations with World Development revealed the project should be eligible for a 55 to 75% grant for the project. Councilman Rick Leos said, "I hate to see us put this off when the prices are going up and up, we only have a couple of weeks to get this done so we can move forward."

The Memorial Day parade will be held on May 25, the town is collecting items for the military men and woman serving over seas.

New Business

A Public Hearing for local law #4, 2009, smoking, will be held at 7 p.m. May 15.

Resolution #22, to make the town tax collector a four-year position carried. A referendum will be placed on the November 2009 election.

Bond Resolution #23 carried to finance of a dump/plow truck for the Town of Vienna.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 6.
