In between the CNY Counties League and Section III Class AA meets, the Baldwinsville boys track and field team took part in the Cicero-North Syracuse Invitational on Saturday, tying the Northstars for second with 72 points, just behind Grand Island (Section VI), who won with 75 points. A quarter of those points came from Andres Romeu and Joel Moss going 1-2 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Romeu winning in 10:26.25 and Moss (10:31.35) taking second. Sean Bernstein got second in the 200-meter dash (22.89 seconds) and fourth in the 100 (11.45 seconds), also claiming fourth in the long jump (6 feet) as Brian Kane cleared 6 feet 2 inches for third place. Kane took fourth (40 feet 2 3/4 inches) in the triple jump. Elsewhere, Nathan McCabe ran to second at 3,200 meters in 9:45.48, with Tim Chambers, Chris Wicks, Shaun Thompson and Ethan Pacheck second in the 4×800 relay in 8:21.95, just behind Grand Island (8:20.90) at the wire. Kyle McCaleb was third in the 400 hurdles (1:00.86), with Andrew Hoover in fifth place as Hoover also took fourth (16.34 seconds) in the 110 high hurdles.
