Proving that it could handle both of its neighbors at once, the Skaneateles track and field teams won all sides of Wednesday’s three-way meet with Marcellus and Jordan-Elbridge. On the girls end, it proved quite easy, as the Lakers crushed the Mustangs 116-25 and did the same kind of damage to the Eagles 119-21. In the sprints, Victoria Sakal won the 100-meter dash (12.8 seconds) and 200-meter dash (26.8 seconds) on her own, then teamed with Kaela Fiutak, Cassie Berg and Carlie Baulick to take the 4×100 relay in 53.3 seconds. Rachel Hosie would edge teammate Grace Vanderven, 4:59.9 to 5:00.4, in the 1,500-meter run, and also prevail in the 3,000-meter run (11:55.7) as Vanderven went on to win the long jump, going 14 feet 10 1/2 inches. Christie Barnett took part in two winning relays in addition to her 400-meter hurdles conquest in 1:11.13. In the 4×800, Barnett helped Amanda Gray, Beatrice Walton and Carly Strods finish in 10:06.4, while the 4×400 saw Sakal and Berg join Barnett and Eileen Ford as they won in a clocking of 4:13.2. Skaneateles swept the field events, including Caroline Walton taking the shot put (30 feet) and discus (87 feet 8 1/2 inches). Ford won the triple jump, going 32 feet 3 1/2 inches, as Madison Eckles cleared 9 feet in the pole vault and Gabby Eckles won the high jump, clearing 4 feet 10 inches. Though the boys meet on both sides proved closer, Skaneateles still did enough to beat Marcellus 75-66 and top J-E 92-49. Brae Kriever had a trio of wins, taking the 100 (11.2 seconds) and 200 (23.0 seconds) sprints before unleashing a top long jump of 20 feet 5 1/2 inches. Pat Rooney continued his season-long domination of the 400 hurdles, winning in 57.9 seconds before earning a top triple jump of 42 feet 9 inches. Sean Cooper, who was victorious in the 110-meter high hurdles (16.3 seconds), teamed with Rooney, Steve Tucker and Calvin Davis to win the 4×400 realy in 3:38.3. Drake Hill threw the shot put 47 feet 9 1/2 inches, then added a discus title when he heaved it 115 feet 2 inches. Tim Lewis won the high jump, clearing 6 feet.
