Through two games, the Liverpoool baseball team has, for the time being, proven itself to be better than both of its closest neighbors. A full week (and lots of rain and snow) after slugging to an April 2 win at Cicero-North Syracuse, the Warriors used a different approach in last Thursday’s game at Baldwinsville, shutting out the Bees 5-0. Strong on the mound, pitchers Mike Weakley and Mike Parsons mowed down the B’ville hitters, giving up just three hits between them as Weakley took the win. Defensively, the Warriors did not commit an error, in contrast to B’ville’s total of four. Liverpool used a run in the second inning to push in front, then scored twice in both the third and fifth innings off Alex Riley and Bo Watson. Both Matt O’Kipney and David Piraino got credit for RBIs.
