Canastota indoor track athlete Jeff Willis brought home a medal after finishing fourth at last Saturday’s New York State Public High School Athletic Association championship meet at Cornell University. Willis moved into contention right away and didn’t stop until he had cleared 14 feet 6 inches. That landed him in fourth place in the final standings. Jake Platel (Bethlehem) took the state championship, clearing 15 feet with fewer misses than Grand Island’s Adam Helman. Cory Duggan (Monsignor Farrell) was third by clearing 14 feet 9 inches.
