The Greater Camillus Chamber of Commerce installed new officers last week, in conjunction with the group’s 4th Annual Chili Cook-off, held Thursday evening at Annesgrove residential community.Newly installed Chamber President Don Laxton said this year the chamber will try to revive itself. “The chamber got a little stale,” Laxton said. But Camillus’ commercial growth continues to grow, and the chamber is here to support both the little entrepreneur and the big business, he added. During the installation and kick-off event, the chamber presented Camillus Memorial Day Parade organizers Ed Fletcher and Bernie Bunce with a $500 check towards the parade, the chamber’s first donation to the parade committee. The contribution will help in their strive to make the parade “bigger and bigger every year,” Bunce said, though the parade is already the biggest in the county.
