My Bloody Valentine and Don't Go In The Woods to be screened

Come to the "Haunted Palace" at 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26 and be a part of the Second Annual 1980s Slasher Double Feature at the Palace Theater, 2384 James St., Syracuse. This horror film screening is a follow up to a series of genre related films that will be screened at The Palace Theater in the month of October leading into a very huge "Haunted Palace" Halloween Party on Friday, Oct. 31 at The Palace Theater.

'My Bloody Valentine,' on 35mm will begin at 10 p.m. On Valentine's Day, someone always loses their heart. Twenty years ago, this small town lost more than that. When supervisors abandoned their posts to attend the town's annual holiday dance, a tragedy claimed the lives of five miners. The sole survivor, Harry Warden, was institutionalized but returned for a vengeful massacre on the disaster's first anniversary. Nineteen years later, the town is gearing up for another Valentine's party. Teen Sweethearts T.J. (Paul Kelman) and Sarah (Lori Hallier) and their friend Axel (Neil Affleck) are among the excited party-goers. But when a box of candy containing an eerie warning and blood-soaked heart arrive, the townsfolk realize that romance is as good as dead. And so are they.....

'Don't go in the Woods,' on 35mm will follow at 11:45 p.m. Four young campers head into the deep woods of the Utah Mountains for a relaxing weekend. But their fun is spoiled when a machete-wielding maniac embarks on a blood-splattering rampage, hacking and slashing all who enter the woods! Intended as a comedy, James Bryan's Don't Go In The Woods ..Alone snuck through with an R rating in the U.S. but the U.K. were less amused and banned it outright.

Tickets are $8.; $5. if you come dressed up as a 1980s slasher or a victim. A pair of VIP passes for the "Haunted Palace" will be given away as a prize for best dressed/make-up and slasher/victim.
