About Father Charles Brady
Father Charles Brady was named City Missioner for the City of Syracuse by Bishop Foery in February of 1946, upon his return from service as a Chaplin during World War II. He was passionate about serving others and concerned with issues of social justice and civil rights, both within and outside the Catholic Church and throughout the community of Syracuse, and this nation. Father Brady was committed to building relationships, one person at a time. And, because he had an open and welcoming spirit, many people in the community came to love and admire him as a priest, friend, and advocate for social justice and equality for all people. The loyalty and love that people had for Father Brady is still present today, even 30 years after his death, through the actions and spirit of many people, some of whom knew Father Brady personally, and some who never knew him. These individuals ensure that Father Brady's life and spirit continues on in gathering this like.
