B'ville FUMC hosts First Fest

Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church will host First Fest at 10:30 a.m. Sunday Sept. 7 in the church's fellowship hall at 17 West Genesee St. in Baldwinsville. The event will give members and visitors alike a first-hand glimpse at the many ministries of the church, as well as provide the opportunity for children and adults to sign up for Sunday School classes.

"The start of the school season signals the start-up of many studies, fellowship activities and service projects," a spokesperson explained. "First Fest gives everyone a chance to ask questions about different groups and activities and even sign up to be part of different events in the life of the church."

The event will feature a time to sample different appetizers and snacks at each of the group's booth, followed by a hot dog luncheon at 11:30 a.m. First United Methodist Church of Baldwinsville strives to witness to the love of God as revealed in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ through worship opportunities that praise God in a meaningful way; an educational ministry that recognizes individual needs for spiritual growth; and a caring and serving ministry that recognizes and meets needs with the congregation, community and world.

First Fest worships at 9 a.m. followed by a 10:30 a.m. contemporary worship service resumes on Sunday Sept. 14. Registration for Sunday School for all ages is Sept. 7 during First Fest. Classes begin on Sept. 14. Rev. Rhonda Kouterick is pastor of the church.
