From a love of God:
It is fair to say that CNY's Alison Fisher is an unusually beautiful woman. She is tall with a figure much like a 1950s movie star. She has large luminous gray eyes and a brilliant smile. Yet her true beauty comes from within - formed through her love of God.
"Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, self control - these seven things are the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in your life," Alison said. "These seven things are gifts that he gives you in your life; they can help you to manifest this purpose in your life; the most important one is love."
Alison (Fisher) and Jim Cullin have a 9-year-old son, Graham. He is the same age Alison was when she first discovered her faith in God, a faith that has been tested many times during her 45 years.
"I have taken departures from God, but he has never left me," Alison said, "he has even had his hand on my life even when I was far away from him."
Alison is a passionate person - about her boys, husband Jim who is an engineer and son Graham who is all boy, her home, her artwork, her many friends, her love of God, and her upcoming mission to Africa.
"Because I feel that God really cares about the people in Africa," she said.
She is a member of the Eastern Hills Bible Church on route 92 in Manlius. It is very active congregation, very involved in volunteer work and missions. Most recently in the news with more than 400 volunteering for ABC's "Extreme Make Over Home Edition."
Alison is joining members of the congregation on a mission to Senegal in West Africa.
