Season End Extravaganza' planned for Sunday

To close out the ice cream season and celebrate the fire, police and ambulance services in Camillus, Carol's Polar Parlor will hold a Season End Extravaganza from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday Oct. 26.

Carol's owner Carol Franceschetti, who opened the sister business to Peter's Polar Parlor in the spring, decided to hold the event in honor of the three services after experiencing first-hand how important each of them were to residents.

"Each of these three organizations play such a major role in the health and well being of our community, we believe their good service should be recognized and acknowledged," said Franceschetti in a statement.

To celebrate, members of the Fairmount Fire and Camillus Police departments and WAVES ambulance members and their families will receive free regular-sized cones.

"The store will light up with the fire engines, police cruisers and rescue trucks. Our men in blue, the fire fighters and rescue team will be on site to relax and enjoy themselves," Franceschetti added.

In addition, community members will be able to enjoy ice cream specials and other treats:

All customers will be entitled to "Buy one, get one free" on any item we offer. The Polar Parlors proudly serve premium ice cream products, Crowley's soft serve and Gifford's of Maine hard ice cream.

Anyone wearing a Halloween costume will receive a free regular cone of their choice.

All employees, their parents, and siblings will receive free regular cones.

We will be serving free popcorn to everyone from our giant 20-foot inflatable ice cream cone.

Country Bob, local country singer will entertain and delight everyone with his country sounds live.

The Polar Parlors will sponsor a bake sale fundraiser on-site for the Youth Group of the Slavic Baptist Church.

Beautiful free 2009 annual calendars will be available.

In addition, Sweet Chunky's Barbeque, opening soon next door to Carol's, will join the celebration offering free samples. Carol's Polar Parlor is located at 3800 West Genesee St. in Fairmount.
