Nearly a dozen merchants in the village of Hamilton will keep their shops open until 8 p.m. Friday Nov. 21 in honor of Hamilton's "A World of Holidays" kickoff that day, presenting an opportunity for the community to browse stores and get in on the start of the holiday festivities.
"Downtown merchants have been busy decorating their storefronts for the holiday season," said Lauri Tomberlin of Evergreen Gallery. "We invite our friends and neighbors to enjoy an evening stroll downtown to view the displays, begin their holiday shopping, and perhaps have a nice dinner."
Adventure Bikes and Boards, the Barge, Colgate Bookstore, Curtis Lumber, Evergreen Gallery, the Hour Glass, Jane Porter Studio, La Iguana, MAD Art, Maxwell's Chocolates, and the Peppermill will be ready to welcome visitors during the evening hours, with stores decorated in the theme of their "adopted" countries.
The Colgate Inn will serve a special international-themed buffet dinner from 6 to 9 p.m., which will include salad, pasta, chicken, vegetables and dessert, all for just $10 plus tax and gratuity.
Shoppers can choose from the multitude of gift options and offerings then take their purchases back to the Colgate Inn and enjoy the buffet dinner while their gift selections are wrapped free of charge by members of the Hamilton Business Alliance.
Hamilton's A World of Holidays passports will be available beginning Nov. 21, and anyone issued a passport on that day will be entered into a drawing for a very special Gifts of the Village goodie basket containing contributions from Village merchants.
Downtown merchants will be stamping passports when customers make a purchase and shoppers with three or more stamps in their passports at the end of the season will be eligible to enter a drawing for prize packages that include a spa retreat for two at Mirbeau in Skaneateles with overnight accommodations; two tickets to New Year's Eve at Colgate Inn, including an overnight stay, dancing and breakfast; and dinner and a movie for two in Hamilton.
Pick up your very own passport from any participating merchant beginning Friday Nov. 21 and get involved in Hamilton's A World of Holidays.
