But a Wildcat serve went long and, at 24-24, B'ville reclaimed the serve. It proceeded to win the next two points, take the game 26-24, and seize permanent momentum in the match.
They were tied, 11-11, in the second game before the Bees used a 9-2 run to seize control, eventually accounting for a 25-17 victory. And a 9-1 run early in the third game sent the Bees to a decisive 25-18 margin that completed the sweep.
Galvin was just one small part of a deep, balanced front line. Lauren McVey led it, with 12 kills to go with three aces, while Sandra Shibley delivered eight kills. Alexis Pateras joined Galvin with seven kills as Jenna Blujus added six kills.
In defeat, the Wildcats had Morgan McDermott earn 11 kills and Katie Griffin get seven kills, while Carly Graham (15 assists) and Chelsea Sedlacek (nine assists) worked on the back line.
With little time to rest and savor this latest championship, the Bees go to the Albany area on Saturday for the Class AA state regional playoffs.
