Medicine Shoppe of Oneida to relocate

Having outgrown it's current location on Main Street, The Medicine Shoppe will soon be relocating to a larger, just as prosperous section of town, upper Lenox Avenue. Across from the newly opened Colonial Laundromat, the new location will give the business a boost, as well as plenty more parking space for it's patrons. Owner and pharmacist Jim Shovlin says the new location will definitely bring in some more business.

"I think we will see an increase in our business, given that this is the second most traveled road in Oneida," he said.

The new location will include a room for patient counseling and immunizations, something that will bring convenience to patrons. Shovlin and his staff have just finished up the courses required to do the immunizations, and are eager to make the move into their new space.

Along with the current staff, customers will be greeted by some new and friendly faces in the pharmacy. Shovlin is very pleased with the new additions to his team, which include some highly experienced pharmacists from other local area pharmacies.

"Customers who have visited other local pharmacies, and know these individuals will be greeted by a few familiar faces," Shovlin said.

With new technology and pharmacy automation, Shovlin sees the new move as the right one, and is quite excited to be bringing the new technology and service to his customers.

The relocation will also prove to be great for the other surrounding businesses as well. Located across the street within the same building as the Colonial Laundromat are Passion Nails and Little Ceasar's Pizza, all of which are predicted to see a bit of a boost in sales with the Medicine Shoppe move. Business owners are hopeful that some customers may wander over while waiting for their prescriptions, to perhaps get a manicure or grab a quick snack.

The new space will be ready by next week, and Mr. Shovlin had planned to open on Nov. 10, but must wait for the proper approval. He is confident that everything will be approved and the Medicine Shoppe will be up and running in it's new location very soon.
