Boards in brief: Increased state funding for B'ville

The village of Baldwinsville will receive $77,194 in CHIP (Consolidated Highway Improvement Project) funding from the state for general road improvements, an increase of 19.71 percent from last year. Will receive $77,194 from state. The village will also see a five percent increase in AIM (Aid and Incentive for Municipalities) funding from the state with a total of $58,435 to help offset property tax increases.

Good water in B'ville

B'ville recently placed second in an Onondaga County Water Tasting event held at Great Northern Mall. The village frequently places high in the annual competition.

"Not only is our water lower priced, it's good tasting," said Village Engineer Tim Baker.

New light at Fairways North

The Fairways North Lighting District will be getting a new street light installed at the intersection of River Road and Greenleafe Drive for a cost of $2.60 per year for a house valued at $200,000. Fairways North resident Linda Robertson made the request to the board, which was approved at the April 28 Lysander board meeting.

VB approves local law

Van Buren officials approved a local law that allows the town to recover attorney fees for zoning violations. There were no objections during the public hearing addressing this issue.
