Sponsored by CNY Community Foundation, Redhouse and 40 Below, the free event will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and will feature unique performances, vendors, music and art.

Four-piece alterna-pop band Merit from Syracuse, will headline the event in preparation for the release of their new EP produced by indie rock guru John Naclerio (My Chemical Romance, Brand New). Also performing Jessy Chick, Aeyst, Jordan, Tots and others.

The Syracuse Spring Thing Festival will also include interactive workshops featuring button-making, a group mural, clay-pot painting and more (there will be a limited sign-up).

A variety of local food vendors such as Funk n' Waffles, The Kind Coffee Company, Roji Tea Lounge, El Tropicale and Heavens to Betsey are preparing delicious delectables. And artists of every medium are converging to show and sell their creations.

And as if this isn't enough, there will be sideshow styled performances including belly dancing, human blockhead and a bed of nails.
