Chittenango Lions host 'Seniors' Day Out'

The Chittenango Lions Club, in conjunction with the town of Sullivan Parks and Recreation Department held its 34th Senior Citizens Dinner April 27 at American Legion Post 1287. Lions club members purchased, cooked and served food for more than 100 senior citizens.

The parks and recreation department, along with the Leisure Time Club took care of the reservations, planned the entertainment and honored the local senior citizen of the year.

Named as town of Sullivan Senior Citizens of the Year were Michael and Donna Lynch. A plaque was presented by Robin McCombie, program coordinator. Town councilman Tom Kopp and village deputy mayor Mike Sudol read proclamations.

Leisure Time Club President Bea Hebert presented the couple with a gift.

Linda Llewelyn was dinner chairperson and Dennis Duggleby headed up the cooking staff. Twenty Lions and several spouses hosted the roast beef dinner.

The event concluded with entertainment.
