J-E teachers raise $1,939 for local food pantry

Who ever said growing a beard wasn't profitable?

Twenty-one teachers from the Jordan-Elbridge School District recently completed a competition to determine who in the district has the ugliest beard. Students, fellow teachers and members of the community were encouraged to vote. The cost to vote was either one dollar or a can of food. Proceeds went to the local food pantry.

Social Studies teacher Windsor Price finished first in the competition, nearly doubling the votes of runner-up Mr. Roman.

Contestants were required to put their razors away prior to or on Christmas day Until Feb. 13.

Together the teachers raised $1,939 for the local food pantry.
