Italians of Comedy

Syracuse native Dan Frigolette is back for another weekend of comedy and this time he's bringing an ensemble of Italians with him. Italians of Comedy is a meatball-slinging laughfest highlighting the eccentricities of the Italian culture. The family-friendly show takes place in Syracuse at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 27 at the Palace Theatre.

Frigolette, a comedian himself, is the creator of Comma, D Productions, a Brooklyn based company that originated in 2006 to enrich the careers of promise young comedians by uniting them to create comedy shows and productions. This comedy production and promotion company began by producing showcases throughout Brooklyn and New York City and in just two years it has produced over 200 showcases and tours.

Frigolette, who got his comedic start in Syracuse at Viva Debris in the basement of the Hotel Syracuse, loves creating the opportunity to come back home and entertain in the same city where he started.

This past November Frigolette and Comma, D Productions brought humor to his home town with the stand up comedy competition Make Me Laugh: Syracuse, NY. The competition took plance at the Palace theatre for the local Syracuse community where Frigolette served as both producer and host of the show. Now just six months later Frigolette is bringing a little more flavor to his home town.

The Italians concept came as a no-brainer to Frigolette, a full-blooded Italian born in Schenectady, NY, the same town that debuted Italian of Comedy in 2006. Since then the show has played at Rutgers University, and the Broadway Comedy Club in New York City with great success. So the next logical step, like any good Italian, was bringing it home to meet his mother.

Italians of Comedy will be hosted by Las Vegas born and bred Mad Dog Mattern, and will feature performances from Dan Frigolette, Tom Anzalone, a local comedian and entertainer and will be headlined by Nate Bargatze a writer for National Lampoon who has been seen on CMT's Comedy Stage, and on Comedy Central's Live From Gotham.

The family-friendly show will be sponsored by Gianelli Sausage, Santangelo's, J Michael Shoes and Dejulio's Army Navy. Tickets are on sale at all sponsoring locations and will be sold for $20 with special group rates applied. Tickets can be purchased at Santangelo's Restaurant, DeJulio's Army Navy, J Michael Shoes, Nestico's Restaurant, Justin's Grill Restaurant, Palace Theatre Caf (c), Tassone's Wine Garden, Grimaldi's Luna Park, Grimaldi's Trattoria, Dominick's Restaurant and Lava Nightclub.
