This year's home belongs to ES-M graduate Danny Skarupa, who was in this same program about 15 years ago, Kugler said.
"In this particular project, Danny wanted to give back to the school, being a former student of the program," he said. "He's a finished carpenter. He's been in the business. He got his head start from taking this in high school, so he values the program. He wanted to give today's kids the same opportunity."
Under the direction of Kugler and Schwendy, about 10 students helped build Skarupa's 1,565 square-foot ranch-style home with three bedrooms and two baths, located in the village of East Syracuse on Heman Street, near the Hartwell Street intersection.
