A Weedsport man has been charged with the July 4 robbery of a Van Buren Sunoco station.
Jeffrey Hill, 45, of 8785 Graham St. in Weedsport, was charged with third degree robbery in connection with the early morning robbery of the Sunoco station located at 7472 Van Buren Road. Sheriff's Detectives also charged Hill with second degree burglary, third degree criminal possession of a weapon and three counts of grand larceny in connection with the July 5 burglary of an Elbridge home.
Sheriff's detectives investigating the July 5 burglary recovered evidence that linked the incident to the July 4 robbery in Van Buren.
Additionally, detectives linked evidence with the Camillus Police Department's investigation of a July 13 robbery of the Fastrac gas station located 507 Hinsdale Road in Camillus. Working together with the Camillus Police Department and the city of Syracuse Police Department, detectives were able to identify Hill as a suspect and subsequently apprehended him.
Hill was arraigned on these charges and is currently being held at the Onondaga County Justice on bail set in the amount of $50,000 cash or bond for the July 4 robbery and $30,000 cash or $10,000 bond for the July 5 burglary.
The Town of Camillus Police Department charged Hill with robbery in the third degree and two counts of petit larceny and he is currently being held on $50,000 cash or $25,000 bond. He was also charged by the city of Syracuse for fourth degree grand larceny, fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property and third degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and has had bail set in the amount of $5,000 cash or $1,000 bond for these charges.
