Barenaked Ladies singer court date adjourned

The original court date of Thursday July 17 set for Barenaked Ladies singer Steven Page, 38, and two Fayetteville woman was adjourned until Aug. 26 at the Fayetteville Village Court, according to Village Court Clerk Jeanette Zacharias.

Around 2 a.m. Manlius police officers found a suspicious vehicle parked around across the sidewalk with its drivers side door open in the driveway of 311 East Genesee Street in the village of Fayetteville. Officers then observed a man and woman seated at a kitchen table inside apartment 1 with an unknown white capsule, which tested positive for cocaine.

Page, a native of Toronto, Ontario, and Stephanie Ford, 25, of 311 East Genesee Street, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree - a class C felony crime - on Friday, July 11. Ford was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Later that same morning, Christine M. Benedicto, 27 of 311 East Genesee Street, was arrested in connection with contraband that was found during a search of the apartment. Benedicto, who was not home at the time of the incident, was charged following investigation with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Page and Ford were released after posting cash bail in the amount of $10,000 (Page) and $5,000 (Ford). Benedicto was released on her own recognizance.
