Pedestrian hit on Thompson Road

An accident that occured the evening of July 12 sent a pedestrian to University Hospital where officials say she is expected to survive.

The victim, Victoria J. Bell, 1646 County Route 37 in West Monroe, was struck by a car, driven by Lynne K. Michalski of Syracuse, while walking across the 6300 block of Thompson Road.

Bell was transported to University Hospital with a broken arm, broken pelvis, and a sublateral hematoma to her head.

Witnesses reported that the victim walked into the driving lane of Thompson Road when she was struck. Dewitt Police continue to investigate and have not issued any tickets in the accident.
