Century Celebrated: Marcellus resident turns 100

Born Feb. 4, 1908, Mary Stalker Woods turned 100 on Monday. She has lived in Marcellus since the age of three when her father came to the village to work in the woolen mills. Mary worked at the Marcellus Bank and is still an active member at the Presbyterian Church. On Jan. 20, members of the church and Sunday School classes threw Mary a surprise birthday and her daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were able to attend the event. Her daughter-in-law, Donna Woods was married to her son John who died at the age of 54 in 1992. Donna and her children and grandchildren now all live out-of-state.
