The Sullivan Town Council will hold a meeting next month for Route 31 residents. The informational session is for Lakeport and Bridgeport residents whose properties fall within the proposed Bridgeport Sewer Initiative area.
Supervisor John M. Becker announced this morning that more than 600 property owners would be affected, and original plans to hold the meeting at the Bridgeport Elementary School have been scrapped in favor of the larger capacity of the Chittenango High School auditorium.
Becker said he was awaiting a return call confirming the date from Superintendent Thomas Marzeski as of close of business today.
The tentative date is Saturday Jan. 10 at 10 a.m., Becker said, to enable as many working residents as possible to attend the meeting.
"This meeting is going to be only for those directly affected by this proposed project," Becker said. "This is the only meeting we are going to be able to have, and there is not enough time to put it up for a vote."
According to engineers present at the Wednesday Dec. 17 meeting, the project has got to be finalized and ready to submit for funding by the end of January, when the president is expected to sign into law an ambitious public works bill that is aimed at getting people back to work.
