On Dec. 8, New York State Assemblyman William Barclay presented a New York State flag to Elden Elementary School in Baldwinsville, in recognition of the school's efforts to support students with autism and other disabilities. He presented the flag, which was previously flown over the Capitol Building in Albany, during an assembly on citizenship, which is Elden's character education trait for December.
Barclay's visit was prompted by Jill Doerger, a Baldwinsville resident who had requested a flag earlier in the year. Her daughter Abbey, who is a student at Elden, along with Principal Tony Cardamone, accepted the flag for the school.
