Shop late in Hamilton this season

Hamilton's first annual World of Holidays campaign has given residents and visitors a whirlwind of festivities, opportunities to learn how cultures around the world celebrate, while also providing convenient and timely gift and holiday shopping opportunities right here at home.

There is one more chance to shop local as several village merchants stay open until 8 pm on Wednesday, December 10th. If you've already picked up your World of Holidays passport and have obtained at least three stamps, then you are eligible to be entered in the drawing for three great prizes.

The top prize is a weekend spa getaway in Skaneateles, with an overnight stay at the Sherwood Inn and a spa treatment for two at the luxurious Mirbeau Spa. Second prize is just as special -- the Colgate Inn's New Year's Eve package, with an overnight stay for two at the Inn, live music, dancing, hors d'oeuvres, champagne toast and a continental breakfast. The third prize is worth having, too, with dinner at La Iguana, Hamilton's new Mexican restaurant, valued at $50, and two movie passes to the Hamilton Theater.

Passports have a page in the center that can be torn out and dropped off at the Colgate Inn by Saturday, December 20th. The drawing will be held at the Inn on Sunday, December 21st, at 3 pm, with Hamilton's mayor Sue McVaugh slated to draw the winning entries. If you haven't obtained your passport yet, there's still time to do so and be included in the drawing.

The Hamilton Business Alliance (HBA) has sponsored the World of Holidays, celebrating global community right here in Hamilton. To learn more about the HBA and activities the organization sponsors all year 'round, attend their regular membership meetings held the first Wednesday of the month at the Colgate Inn.
