Lysander officials work out kinks in sewer plan

A few design details still need to be worked out on the Whispering Oaks sewer district improvements project. A meeting was held Tuesday to address current problems.

"There are still a few loose ends which may affect the map and plan," said engineer Ken Knutsen.

After the meeting, a report will be sent back to the board with any changes made to the map and plan. The county was concerned about potential odors to the pump station. The county is also looking into an emergency generator for the pump station in case of a sustained power outage. There will be another public hearing when more information becomes available.

New lights at Seneca Estates

Two street light fixtures will be placed in Seneca Estates. These lights will be placed at each entrance of the neighborhood, and will average around $4 to $9 per year for the residents.

"We badly need these lights at each entrance," said a representative of the Seneca Estates Home Owners Association representative.

National Grid was notified Tuesday to begin the project.
