CBA begins Corvette raffle at the New York State Fair

Christian Brothers Academy is proud to announce an earlier than usual start to the school's 18th Annual Classic Corvette Raffle. Beginning on Thursday Aug. 21, CBA volunteers will be selling raffle tickets at a booth during the 12 days of the New York State Fair.

This year's car is a fully restored Glen Green 1965 Corvette Convertible with a tan interior and tan soft-top.

The car boasts a 365-horse power engine, original powertrain with matching numbers, four speed manual transmission, power windows, a teak telescopic steering wheel, and is valued at $58,000.

People can view the car and purchase raffle tickets at CBA's tent at the New York State Fair, across from the Talent Showcase Stage, behind the Youth Building. Tickets are $5 each, $20 for a book of five tickets, or $50 for 15 tickets. The tent will be staffed by volunteers from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. during each day of the Fair.

After the Fair, raffle tickets can be purchased at Carousel Center, in front of JCPenney's, from Oct. 11 through Jan. 17. All proceeds from the raffle directly benefit the operating budget of CBA, which includes teacher's salaries and student supplies.

The drawing for the grand prize Corvette, and the second and third place prizes of $1,000 and $500 respectively, will be held on Jan. 17th, 2009 at CBA. Winners need not be present to win. If you would like more information on the raffle, please contact the CBA Development Office at 446-5960 ext.1140.
