Madison County residents wishing to vote in any primary elections next month must register with the Board of Elections by Friday. The state Board of Elections announced last week that voter registration forms must be postmarked by midnight Aug. 15 and received no later thn Aug. 20 to be eligible to cast their ballots in the Sept. 9 primary.
Residents who have moved to a new county must re-register from their new address. Those who have moved to a new address in the same county do not have to re-register but should provide the Board of Elections with their new address and ask the location of their new polling site.
Internet users may check the status of voter registrations, locate their poll site or download a registration form by visiting elections.state.ny.us and clicking on "Voting Information."
Those wishing to register may do so at the Madison County Board of Elections, local post offices, libraries and state agency offices throughout the state.
