Oneida, Sylvan Beach troopers seek help

New York State Police in Sylvan Beach and Oneida are asking the public to help solve a string of burglaries in the town of Vienna that occurred during June and July.

On June 28 between 7 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., a Halstead Road residence was burglarized. Among items reported missing are a Vizio VW37L 37-inch flat-screen HDTV and about 400 DVDs.

A Maple Flats Road residence under renovation was reportedly burglarized twice: Once between late June and early July and again between July 21 and July 24.

During the first incident, two 250-foot coils of electrical wire (one 12-2, one 12-3) and about 50 feet of old wire were taken. During the second incident, power and hand tools were taken. Reported missing during the second incident were a DeWalt 90-degree drill, DeWalt 7.5-inch circular saw, gas-powered Passload frame nailer, Bostitch pneumatic coil nailer, T-crow bar and a pair of CHANNELLOCK flat-end pliers.

Between July 11 and July 14, a storage trailer at G.W. Bryant Core Sands Inc. on Bryant Road was entered. Reported stolen from the trailer were 25 belt pulleys (two-groove to six-groove and eight to 24 inches in diameter) and six weld flanges.

A vehicle was broken into between July 16 and 17 on Lakeshore Drive, and a Dell Latitude D630 laptop was stolen.

Troopers from the agency's criminal investigations division are asking anyone with information about the following incidents to contact state police at 366-6000.
