Members of the Baldwinsville Women's Garden Club teamed up with Bartlett Tree Experts this past Saturday to clean up Canal Park on Marble Street in the village.
The effort was a combination celebration of Arbor Day and Earth Day with garden club members tending to the gardens as Bartlett volunteers raked, chipped and pruned the park trees.
The park has been the pet project of the women's garden club since 1969.
"The park looks great," said Joy Swenson, a member of the club. "It was quite warm to be working in the sun all morning."
Baldwinsville resident Mike Gorham, who is a certified arborist with Bartlett Tree Experts, his family business, volunteered his time and expertise as a way to give back to his community. Arborists Sean Miller and Tony Iannello (of Bartlett Tree Experts) joined Gorham, along with his wife and their two sons in the clean up effort.
