Local Politicians lobby for truck traffic laws

Mayor of Skaneateles Bob Green said the Assemblyman arranged for key people to meet with him in his office in Albany this week, including members of the Assembly Transportation Committee, so they could understand the importance of this safety legislation.

"Will has been very supportive of what we're trying to do. It's very important legislation for the Upstate New York community. We're small communities and for places like Skaneateles and Aurora, it's really a quality of life issue," said Mayor Green.

"My staff and I have attended several meetings that this task force has hosted throughout the Finger Lakes region. I'm concerned about the environment, resident safety and through a coordinated effort, am hopeful we can pass legislation that would make walking through their neighborhoods safer for the residents who live and visit there," said Barclay.
