Hamilton: Big yellow poodle visits bookstore

Big yellow poodle visits bookstore

Zander, the big yellow poodle, and Debbie Gibbons, a volunteer with the Chenango County SPCA, will be the special guests at a children's program at the Colgate Bookstore at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19. The program will be held in the Class of 2003 Events Room (third floor) at 3 Utica Street. It is open to children of all ages and their families. Refreshments will be provided.

Zander is a yellow standard poodle who is a licensed therapy dog, has four obedience titles and is a greatly loved family member. With him, children will learn about meeting new dogs, care of dogs, training dogs and grooming dogs. Zander will show the new dog event called Rally Obedience and will run a course. There will be lots of time for petting him and for questions about dogs. Each child will leave with a coloring book on dogs and at the very end, one lucky child's name will be drawn to win a great book called "Kid's Best Dog Book."

Parents, bring your cameras. The program will also include a fun photo session with your child and the big poodle dressed in the costume of your choice: bumble bee, butterfly, clown, or pumpkin. For more information, visit colgatebookstore.com.
