Docent Corps hosts training session April 14

According to co-chairs Susan Anthony and Linda Smith, Lorenzo State Historic Site is looking for members of the community to become new stewards of the site's history. A full-day training workshop will be offered on April 14 for anyone who would like to become a member of the Lorenzo Docent Corps, a group made up of volunteer tour guides.

The Docent Corps is responsible for presenting the history of Lorenzo in a friendly and knowledgeable manner to the site's visitors, and the group's monthly meetings focus on expanding an understanding of the history of Lorenzo and its five generations of residents. Topics of interest also presented include Cazenovia history, architectural and landscape design, decorative arts, historic costume, etc.

Members of the Docent Corps are regularly called upon to lead group tours through the mansion and participate in special events at Lorenzo. The Docent Corp is a wonderful educational opportunity and a great way to become involved at Lorenzo and in the community! Call Sharon Cooney at Lorenzo, 655-3200, for more information.
